I want a bonfire! And fireworks! And bonfire toffee!
402 years ago some very bad men tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament, King James included. Guy Fawkes was left to light the fuse but was found and came to a sticky end. So it is traditional to make a "guy" out of old clothes stuffed with paper and straw. Then you stick the guy on top of the bonfire and watch him go up in smoke.
