Can't believe how difficult it was to apply for a bus card!
1) Went online, enter ID number
2) Password sent to home bank
3) Could not find password anywhere
4) Next day: went to Hlemmur (in town anyhow) and asked what to do, got number to phone
5) Phoned a bloke at Stræto.is and he said it was tricky to find on my bank site and he was waiting for further intructions
6) Phoned the bank and asked where on the webpage I should look
7) Logged on to bank, found password.
8) Logged on to bus site and found I needed a picture in 3x4 size
9) Couldn't resize picture myself so emailed to my daughter who (bless her cotton socks) resized it and returned it
10) Logged back onto bus site and attached picture
Took me about 24hours. Compare that to putting in the student card application which took a few minutes start to finish. I think they don't want anyone to get a bus pass :-)

Why do they do that?
Why is it that as soon as I start to paint a wall insects come from far and wide to check it out?
We are in any case plagued by some black bugs which crawl up the house walls whenever the sun shines. I tried to kill them last year with all things environmentally friendly - I think next year I will have to get the whole garden sprayed with something very nasty. As it is I can't have any windows open because these things can crawl up to the second floor! And when squished they are full of very red bloood. Yuk!

Final projects!
Hooray! Printed out the last two projects today, headed off to Uni to hand them in, took last look at them en route on the bus ...... found a typing error so ha dto come home and print that one out again. Try again tomorrow I suppose.
Other than that, went for the biennial cancer check and got a woman who insisted on trying to squash my ribcage along with my softer bits. Just think, the rest of my life will be ticked off in two year bits all because of cancer checks. And yes, I am greatful really :-)
Also today, the sun-blinds arrived and were put up. Very smart they look too.

Lóan er komin
Yes! The plover has arrived in Reykjavík. Actually it may have been here for a while but I saw two today for the first time this year. I walked home from university and muttered 8 steps to change management over and over again in the hope that I will be able to recall them tomorrow. Yes, it is exam time again :-) Back to work.....
